Dinner under the stars in the Australian outback – Tali Wiru

If you really want to treat yourself, choose Tali Wiru. Here, an exclusive dinner beneath the Australian night sky awaits, where fine cuisine, exquisite Australian wines, and the magnificent surroundings of the Red Centre come together in perfect harmony.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Yulara and driven out into the desert to Tali Wiru, which means ‘beautiful sand dune’ in the local Anangu language. Here, atop a sand dune far from the city lights, an atmospheric open-air dining setting awaits, offering impressive 360-degree views across the desert landscape, with the domes of Uluru and Kata Tjuta in the distance.

The evening begins with a glass of premium Australian sparkling wine and a selection of delicate canapés, as the sun slowly approaches the horizon and the last light of day falls across the desert.

You will then take your seat at your table beneath the open sky. Unlike the other dining experiences in the desert, Tali Wiru offers a more intimate setting with private tables, allowing you to enjoy the evening in the company of those closest to you.

Tali Wiru has received acclaim for its cuisine on several occasions and is now the highest-rated restaurant in the Northern Territory according to the Australian Good Food Guide. The restaurant has received the guide’s coveted Chef Hat three years in a row.

The evening’s gastronomic highlight awaits: a four-course dinner showcasing Australian produce and local ingredients. The menu changes, but may include kangaroo, emu, Australian fish and seafood, as well as other ingredients inspired by Australia’s native produce. Carefully selected Australian premium wines, thoughtfully paired with the food, are served with each course.

Once darkness has descended over the desert and the stars appear in the sky, you’ll be introduced to the southern night sky, as a guide points out some of the stars and constellations shining above the Red Centre.

The evening also includes cultural storytelling before you are driven back to your hotel in Yulara after a truly special evening under the stars.
