Day tour to Valparaíso & Viña del Mar

Discover two of Chile’s most charming coastal cities on a full-day excursion from Santiago, where colourful streets, a thriving artistic atmosphere, and beautiful seaside scenery await.

After breakfast, you’ll be collected from your hotel in Santiago and travel west towards the Pacific coast. Along the way, you’ll pass through the lush Casablanca Valley, renowned for its vineyards and cool climate, before arriving in the UNESCO-listed port city of Valparaíso.

Built across steep hills overlooking the bay, Valparaíso is famous for its brightly painted houses, winding streets, vibrant street art, and historic funicular railways. Look forward to taking in this charming city from several scenic viewpoints and enjoying a ride on one of its iconic funiculars, which for more than 100 years have connected the city’s steep neighbourhoods with the harbour below.

The tour then continues through the delightful districts of Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción, where cobbled streets, colourful façades, cosy cafés, and striking murals create a truly distinctive atmosphere.

You will also pass Pablo Neruda’s former home, La Sebastiana, which now operates as a museum (entrance not included), before continuing on to the neighbouring town of Viña del Mar.

Viña del Mar offers a completely different atmosphere to Valparaíso. The city is known for its beautifully maintained parks, wide boulevards, elegant villas, and long sandy beaches. Here, you will visit the seafront promenade, the city’s green spaces, and the popular beach at Reñaca, before having time to explore the centre around Plaza Vergara.

Along the way, you will also have some free time to explore certain areas at your own pace and purchase lunch (at your own expense).

In the late afternoon, you will return to Santiago after a day filled with culture, history, and stunning coastal scenery.
