Situated a mere 30-minute drive from the Guayabo National Monument is the charming Guayabo Lodge, set in scenic surroundings overlooking the mountains, valleys, rivers and the active Turrialba volcano. Thanks to its location 1,500 metres above sea level, the lodge not only offers a fantastic view of the area but also pleasant, cool temperatures. It may therefore also be a good idea to bring a warm sweater for the chilly evenings.

The lodge’s 28 rooms all have their own colour scheme and are decorated with folk art that harmonises with the nature around the lodge. Each room has an en suite bathroom with a hair dryer, toiletries and a hot water shower. The rooms all afford views of either Turrialba volcano or the valley.

At the lodge’s restaurant and bar, you can enjoy Costa Rican dishes and delicious cocktails while admiring the beautiful views. This is also where your breakfast (included) is served.

In the afternoon, you can either explore the area around the lodge or relax in the lounge area with a good book. You can also purchase a cookery course at the lodge’s own cooking school, where you learn how to cook a 3-course Costa Rican meal, which you can then enjoy with a glass of wine.
