Discover a calmer and more authentic side of Bali on this leisurely cycling tour through Sanur’s markets, villages, rice fields, and coastal paths.
Make your own way to our partner’s office in Sanur, the address of which you’ll receive with your confirmation. Here, you’ll meet your English-speaking cycling guide and be provided with a bicycle and helmet. You’ll then set off along peaceful backstreets towards Sindhu Market, a bustling local market where the Balinese buy fresh produce and flowers for their offerings. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to sample local snacks and soak up the market’s authentic, lively atmosphere.
Next, you’ll continue by bike to a traditional Balinese home, where you’ll gain an insight into the island’s culture and daily life. The family will introduce you to the art of making a “canang sari” – a colourful offering that plays an important role in Balinese spiritual practice. Once your offering is complete, you’ll place it at the family’s household shrine as part of the experience.
The tour then continues through one of Sanur’s last preserved areas of rice fields, where the traditional landscape still shapes the surroundings. Along the way, you’ll stop at a small art gallery overlooking the rice paddies, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and soak up the relaxed atmosphere.
Finally, stroll along the pleasant beachfront promenade beside Sanur Beach. The pace here is leisurely, giving you time to take photos or simply enjoy the sea view before returning to your starting point.
