Join us on an exciting half-day tour through Wellington and experience New Zealand’s charming capital at its most beautiful and engaging. Along the way, you’ll visit the city’s main attractions and scenic viewpoints while your guide shares stories about Wellington’s history, culture, and unique atmosphere.
The tour begins in the heart of Wellington, where you’ll pass by Te Papa, New Zealand’s national museum, and enjoy views of the coastline en route to Weta Workshop – the world-renowned production and special effects studio behind The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and Avatar. Entry to the studio itself is not included, but you’ll visit the Weta Cave, where you can purchase souvenirs and see selected props from some of the films created by Weta Workshop.
After visiting the Weta Cave, the excursion continues to the city’s iconic cable car, which has been operating since the early 1900s. The cable car will take you up past Wellington’s Botanic Gardens to a stunning viewpoint offering a spectacular panoramic view over the city and harbour.
Afterwards, the tour continues to Wellington’s Parliament Buildings before concluding at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Here, you’ll have the chance to admire the church’s impressive architecture from the inside for an entrance fee of around 5 NZD.
When the excursion ends, you’ll be dropped off at a location of your choice in central Wellington.
