Join us on this exciting excursion to the village of Hiriwadunna, where you’ll gain an insight into a typical Sri Lankan Day.

Your guide/driver will pick you up from the hotel and drive you out into the lush countryside to the village of Hiriwadunna. The tour starts with a drive in an UTV near the village lake, and you’ll then sail across the serene water lily-covered lake in an ‘oruwa’, the traditional watercraft of the Sri Lankans. After the peaceful boat ride, you’ll go on a short walk through the rice fields, where you may also be lucky enough to see farmers harvesting their crops out in the fields. You’ll come to a house in the village where you’ll meet the family and have the opportunity to taste local specialities and Sri Lankan tea. Afterwards, a tuk tuk will drive you back to the starting point, where, assisted by the locals, you’ll prepare your own lunch consisting of a delicious, authentic Sri Lankan curry.

After a cosy day in Hiriwadunna, you’ll be driven back to the hotel.
