Spicers Balfour is for those who are perhaps celebrating a special anniversary. It’s one of the city’s absolute best hotels.
This small boutique hotel with just 9 rooms is located in the smart and expensive New Farm neighbourhood in Brisbane, where there are old “Queenslander” houses with large verandas, avenues with shady trees, beautiful parks and views of the river. It seems like a world of its own, but you are, in fact, only a few kilometres from the city centre, making this one of the most desirable – and most expensive – areas in all of Brisbane.
You won’t be disappointed when you arrive at Spicers Balfour. It doesn’t feel like you’re arriving at a hotel. It feels like you’re arriving at a home where you’re invited inside with the utmost hospitality.
Breakfast, which is included in the price, is often served on the veranda or in the lovely, fragrant garden. You should enjoy your aperitif in the bar on the roof terrace, which offers is a stunning view of the city skyline at sunset.
The rooms are furnished with designer furniture and in nice, muted colours. All rooms have a Nespresso machine, air conditioning, a minibar, a 50 inch LCD TV, a Bose surround system, ironing facilities and free Wi-Fi.
