Step into Insadong’s creative world of Korean craftsmanship as you visit a traditional workshop and learn to create your very own stone stamp.
Make your own way to Insadong, the setting for today’s creative experience. Here, you’ll be welcomed into a peaceful and atmospheric workshop, where an experienced artisan will introduce you to the history and significance of Korean stamps. Known as dojang in Korean, these stamps have served as personal signatures on works of art, letters, and official documents for centuries. They still play an important role in Korean culture and calligraphy.
With expert guidance, you’ll learn how to design and carve your own stamp, step by step. You’ll work with the stone at your own pace while the artisan helps you with both the technique and the design, showing you how a simple stone is gradually transformed into a personal work of art. Along the way, you’ll not only have the opportunity to create a memento of your tour, but also to experience a Korean tradition that can otherwise be difficult to discover as a visitor.
When your work is complete, you’ll have your very own dojang in your hands. You can take it home as a unique memento of Seoul, Insadong, and the creative moment when you left your own mark on a piece of Korean cultural heritage.
