Immerse yourself in Korea’s sweet culinary traditions as you learn to make the traditional dessert dasik and enjoy a cup of Korean tea in cosy surroundings.

Make your own way to Sinnonhyeon Station, from where you’ll walk to the venue for today’s cooking experience. Here, skilled South Korean pastry chefs will introduce you to dasik and the dessert’s long history. You’ll have the chance to shape the small cakes yourself using traditional ingredients such as omija and injeolmi, as well as trying modern variations featuring chocolate, pistachio, and more. In this way, classic techniques meet new and creative interpretations.

Dasik has been part of Korean tea culture since the Joseon dynasty and is traditionally made from natural grains, seeds, and nuts. The small cakes are pressed into decorative moulds, creating delicate patterns, each with its own meaning. Dasik is therefore often described as a dessert for the eyes, as its appearance is almost as important as its flavour.

As you work, you’ll learn more about the role of desserts in Korean tea culture. Once your little works of art are complete, you can enjoy them with delicious Korean tea, bringing together the sweetness, delicate patterns, and peaceful atmosphere.

At the end, you’ll take your homemade dasik home in a beautiful box. You can choose to share them with others or keep them as a sweet and personal memento of your tour to South Korea.
