This tour takes you through the mountainous heart of the southern half of Sri Lanka, where the lush highlands, vibrant culture, and wild elephants line up to create lifelong memories.
From the golden sandy beaches of Negombo, the journey leads you to Kandy in the verdant highlands, where the rolling landscape is adorned with tea plantations and quaint villages. Here, you’ll visit the Girigama Tea Factory, one of the area's finest, and experience the entire process from picking to the steaming hot tea in your cup.
In Kandy, you’ll get a glimpse of daily life in Sri Lanka's second-largest city and can visit the Temple of the Tooth and the Royal Botanical Gardens. The journey then continues to Nuwara Eliya, where you’ll feel the whispers of history and experience Sri Lanka's proud tea traditions as you're welcomed to a classic High Tea at the Grand Hotel. Here, tea from the surrounding plantations is served in fine china cups, accompanied by scones and small sandwiches in true colonial style.
Amidst the picturesque surroundings, you will stop in one of Sri Lanka's most charming towns, Ella. Here, you’ll hike to the top of Little Adam’s Peak, where the view over Ella Gap is one of the absolute highlights of the tour. You will also visit the iconic Nine Arch Bridge, standing grandly amidst the enchanting scenery.
Finally, meet the wild elephants of Udawalawe, before you might consider extending your tour with a few days at one of the southern beaches in Bentota, Mirissa or Hikkaduwa. It’s a perfect way to conclude your adventure.
