Today, you’ll depart from your selected airport and head to Argentina, with connecting flights along the way.

Welcome to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s vibrant capital, often referred to as the Paris of South America for its grand boulevards, charming neighbourhoods, and beautiful architecture.

At the airport, you’ll be met by your guide, who will drive you to your centrally located hotel. The journey takes around an hour, depending on traffic. Along the way, you’ll receive practical information about your tour and will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

The rest of the day is at your leisure. You might choose to relax after your journey or begin exploring the Argentine capital. Perhaps take a stroll in the local area, enjoy a coffee at one of the city’s cafés, or find a cosy restaurant where you can sample some of Argentina’s local specialities.

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and taken on an exciting city tour through Argentina’s capital.

The first stop is the city’s historical and political heart at Plaza de Mayo, which for centuries has been the setting for some of Argentina’s most significant events. Here, you’ll see the famous pink presidential palace, Casa Rosada.

The tour will then take you to the charming San Telmo district, known for its cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and authentic atmosphere. Here, you’ll also find the bustling San Telmo Market, where local delicacies, handicrafts, and antiques create a lively ambiance.

Next, you’ll visit La Boca, where the colourful houses along the famous Caminito Street create a truly unique atmosphere. The area was originally an old shipyard, where workers built their homes from leftover materials and painted them with surplus ship paint. As there was rarely enough paint to cover an entire house, the neighbourhood became known for its distinctive and vibrant appearance. Today, La Boca brims with life, music, and local culture – and you’ll truly sense the city’s passion for tango.

The city tour also passes through Puerto Madero, the city’s former docklands, which have been transformed into a modern neighbourhood with elegant buildings, stylish restaurants, and lovely waterfront promenades.

You’ll then continue through the leafy Palermo district, passing some of Buenos Aires’ best-known parks and landmarks, including the Botanical Garden, the Planetarium, the racecourse, and Argentina’s famous polo field.

The tour will end in elegant Recoleta, one of Buenos Aires’ most exclusive areas. The impressive mansions, wide boulevards, and French-inspired buildings are a testament to the wealth that has earned the city the nickname “The Paris of South America”. Here, you’ll visit the famous cemetery where many notable Argentines are buried, including Eva Perón – the beloved First Lady of Argentina, better known as Evita.

The city tour will take place in a minibus with stops along the way.

In the afternoon, you’ll return to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your own pace.

Buenos Aires is also a paradise for food lovers. Taste classic Argentine specialities such as empanadas, milanesas, and, of course, the famous Argentine steaks at a local parrilla (steakhouse), best enjoyed with a glass of wine from the Mendoza region. Don’t forget to try alfajores – delicious biscuits filled with dulce de leche, sure to become addictive if you have a sweet tooth. You should also sample mate, the traditional herbal drink you’ll see in the hands of many locals – the porteños, as the residents of Buenos Aires are known.

El Calafate is a charming town set on the shores of Lago Argentino in southern Patagonia. It is best known as the gateway to the spectacular Los Glaciares National Park and the impressive Perito Moreno Glacier. The town exudes a relaxed atmosphere, with cosy cafés, inviting restaurants, and small boutiques to explore.

After breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel in Buenos Aires and driven to the airport. Upon arrival in El Calafate, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to spend as you wish.

Today offers one of the absolute highlights of your tour – a full-day excursion to the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park, one of Argentina’s most iconic natural wonders and part of the UNESCO world heritage list.

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and head out through the open Patagonian landscape towards the national park. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights into the area’s nature and history, as the snow-capped peaks gradually rise on the horizon.

Perito Moreno stretches for around 30 km in length and 5 km in width, with its towering ice wall rising up to 70 metres above Lago Argentino. Beneath the surface, the ice extends another 100 metres – a testament to the glacier’s immense scale. Once famous for its stability, like many of the world’s glaciers, it now shows signs of retreat due to climate change.

Upon arrival at the national park, your experience will begin with a boat trip on Lago Argentino, bringing you right up close to the mighty wall of ice. From the water, you’ll truly grasp the scale of the glacier, and if you’re lucky, you may witness the spectacular calving, when huge chunks of ice break away and crash into the lake with a thunderous roar.

After the boat trip, you’ll have plenty of time to explore at your own pace along the park’s well-designed walkways, leading you to a range of viewing platforms offering magnificent perspectives of the glacier from different angles. At the visitor centre, you can buy lunch (not included), which can be enjoyed along the walkways while admiring the impressive wall of ice.

After spending a few hours at the glacier, you’ll head back to El Calafate, where the remainder of the day is free for you to relax or explore the town further.

After yesterday’s breath-taking nature experience at the Perito Moreno Glacier, you might want to take it easy and soak up the cosy atmosphere of this charming Patagonian town. Settle into a café, take a stroll along the shores of Lago Argentino, or pop into the small local shops offering handcrafted art and items made from Patagonian wool.

If you’re yearning for more nature experiences, the surrounding area offers several exciting excursions. You could, for example, visit a traditional estancia to gain insight into life on the Patagonian steppe.

If you’re interested in the region’s history, a visit to the Glaciarium – a modern museum dedicated to the story of Patagonia’s glaciers and the unique natural environment of Los Glaciares National Park – is highly recommended.

However you choose to spend your day, El Calafate is the perfect place to unwind and take in the serene beauty and dramatic landscapes that define southern Patagonia.

It’s time to say farewell to Patagonia and continue your adventure in the subtropical rainforest of Puerto Iguazú. 

In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in El Calafate and driven to the airport. Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazú, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel, beautifully located amidst lush surroundings just outside the town.

Iguazú Falls is nothing short of a natural wonder, and it’s no surprise that it’s listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. To truly appreciate their grandeur, the falls should be experienced from both the Argentine and Brazilian sides.

Iguazú Falls forms one of the largest waterfall systems on Earth, consisting of 275 cascades of varying sizes stretching over a 2.7 km horseshoe-shaped section along the Iguazú River. Here, immense volumes of water thunder down sheer cliffs up to 85 metres high.

Most of the waterfalls are on the Argentine side, where an extensive network of trails, stairways, and walkways leads you through the lush subtropical rainforest to a series of spectacular viewpoints. As you make your way along, your guide will share insights into the park’s remarkable flora and fauna and the unique environment that makes this one of South America’s most biodiverse areas.

A small train will take you to the largest and most impressive of all the falls – the Devil’s Throat, La Garganta del Diablo. From here, you can look down into the roaring abyss, where around 1.5 million litres of water plunge down every second. The sheer power and scale are breathtaking, and you’re almost guaranteed to get a little wet from the spray.

Due to strong winds and rising water levels caused by the El Niño weather phenomenon, the Argentine park authorities have decided, for safety reasons, to temporarily remove the walkways to Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat). This applies from 3 August 2026 and for approximately four months thereafter. However, a visit to the Argentine side of Iguazú Falls remains a truly spectacular experience, allowing you to get up close to the magnificent waterfalls from the park’s other trails and viewpoints.

Before your journey home begins, you’ll have the chance to experience the magnificent waterfalls from the Brazilian side. You’ll cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge, which connects the Argentine city of Puerto Iguazú with the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguaçu, and continue to the national park. As you cross the border, remember to keep your passport with you.

Most of the waterfalls are located on the Argentine side, but it’s from the Brazilian side that you’ll get the most spectacular panoramic views of this immense waterfall system.

You’ll follow a paved path through the lush subtropical rainforest, where you can admire the falls from several different angles. A long walkway brings you up close to the Devil’s Throat, where you can feel the immense power of the cascading water. Even though the waterfall is some distance away, the mist can still leave you quite wet!

There’s also a viewing platform that you can either walk up to or reach by lift – and from here, the view is nothing short of breathtaking.

Inside the park, there’s a good chance of spotting colourful butterflies, exotic birds, lush vegetation, and the small, curious coatis in search of food.

After your visit to the national park, you’ll be driven to the airport in Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side, where your journey home will begin, with connecting flights along the way.
